Yaya Toure's agent says the midfielder will start talks with other clubs if he isn't told more about his future within one week

Yaya Toure's agent has urged Manchester City to make a swift decision on the midfielder's future - or he will start talking to other clubs.

The 32-year-old Ivorian has one year left on his current deal, but his agent, Dimitri Seluk, insists that Toure will start looking elsewhere if a new contract is not agreed in the coming week.

"We want to make a decision in one week. If not, we can start conversations with different clubs," said Seluk.

"But if some people think we do this for the money - we rejected offer from China for example. If he leaves, he will not go to another English club."

Speculation over a potential Toure departure intensified after the club announced that Pep Guardiola would take over as head coach in the summer.

Guardiola was in charge of Barcelona when Toure was sold to City for £24m back in 2010, but Seluk wants a decision made before the Bayern Munich coach arrives.

"Guardiola, I think he likes Yaya. Guardiola or no Guardiola - they must make a decision."
