David Silva says Manchester City will not be playing for a draw in the Manchester derby on Saturday, live on Sky Sports 1.

The 30-year-old midfielder scored twice for Spain in their 2018 World Cup qualifier against Liechtenstein on Monday, with Manchester United team-mate Juan Mata claiming the jokes have already started about the upcoming derby this weekend

The game will see City boss Pep Guardiola face Jose Mourinho for the first time in the Premier League as the pair renew their rivalry from their time in La Liga, although Guardiola will have to do without the services of first-choice striker Sergio Aguero who was banned for three matches for violent conduct

Despite Aguero's absence, Silva insisted City will be heading to Old Trafford to win, pointing out they have not been overwhelmed at the ground in recent years.

"We've started the season very well and it should be a great game," Silva told Spanish radio station Cope. "But we won't be playing for a draw.

"We will go out to win the match. It's a ground where in the last few years things have gone okay for us.
