Manchester City have had an extension successfully granted by the FA to respond to a charge of failing to ensure anti-doping officials knew where players were for drug testing.

The club was originally given until Thursday to respond to the charge, but an extension has now been granted, meaning the club must provide their explanation by 4pm on Friday, January 27.

Sky sources understand City's information on whereabouts was not updated following a change to training schedules.

Under Regulation 14, clubs have to provide details when requested, including players' training dates, start and finish times of training, addresses where training takes place and home addresses for all players.
