Sergio Aguero and David Silva out for Manchester City against Crystal Palace

Manchester City duo Sergio Aguero and David Silva have been ruled out of Saturday lunchtime's home clash with Crystal Palace, live on Sky Sports.

Aguero limped off against Middlesbrough last weekend with what appeared to be a groin injury and has not recovered in time, although he is expected to return next week.

Silva - who has not played since injuring a knee in the FA Cup defeat to Arsenal - is back in training after rejoining the main group on Thursday he will also miss out against Sam Allardyce's side.

Manager Pep Guardiola could now turn to the fit-again Gabriel Jesus for the Palace game but admitted he had hoped to play him alongside Aguero, something he will again be denied this weekend.

"Gabriel was important for the last two weeks," Guardiola said. "I would have liked to play him and Sergio together because of our lack of goals in the season."

Claudio Bravo will also be absent for City against Palace and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

The Chilean goalkeeper was carried off against Manchester United last week after suffering a calf injury in the second half of their 0-0 draw at the Etihad.

Defender John Stones will not be available this weekend but could return for the last game of the season against Watford.
