Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho will miss the Premier League games against Arsenal and Chelsea after being injured in the Carabao Cup final.
The Brazilian limped off six minutes into the second half of the 3-0 win over Arsenal with what appeared to be a hamstring strain, and was replaced by Bernardo Silva.
Speaking after the game, City boss Pep Guardiola said: "He's injured. The next games he'll be out. We'll assess him tomorrow but he's a big, big loss.
"Now we have to find a solution, to find out which players can play in the Fernandinho position. Now we have a problem in that area."
City were 1-0 up through Sergio Aguero when Fernandinho had to be replaced, as further goals from captain Vincent Kompany and David Silva ensured a comfortable win against Arsenal and earned Guardiola his first trophy at the club.
The sides meet again at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday, live on Sky Sports, with City looking to extend their 13-point lead at the top of the table.
That game is followed by Chelsea's visit to the Etihad Stadium on March 4, also live on Sky Sports.
City then play Basel in the Champions League last 16 the following Wednesday, but they go into the game on the back of a 4-0 win from the first leg.
Fernandinho has played 43 times for his club and country this season and has scored three Premier League goals.
