Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero says he will miss approximately two weeks of action due to a knee problem.

Aguero, 29, felt discomfort in his left knee during a training session on Saturday and will definitely miss City's fixture against Stoke City on Monday night, live on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football.

City's medical staff informed Aguero he will be out for up to two weeks after tests were carried out.

He wrote on Twitter on Sunday: "During yesterday's training I had a discomfort on my left knee. The club's doctors told me I'll be back with the team in approximately two weeks. Now it's time for a full recovery!"

The Argentina striker will have ample time to recover as City do not have a scheduled fixture, after Stoke on Monday, until March 31 when they travel to face Everton at Goodison Park.

The Premier League leaders' game against Brighton, originally scheduled for the weekend, has been postponed to accommodate the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Aguero will, however, hope to return for Argentina's friendly against Italy on March 23, which will be played at City's Etihad Stadium.
