Uruguayan international Cristhian Stuani has joined Girona from Middlesbrough for an undisclosed fee.
The 30-year-old striker scored 16 goals from 66 appearances after moving to the Riverside from Espanyol in 2015.
The move means Stuani returns to La Liga, after Girona last month sealed promotion to the Spain's top flight for the first time in the club's history.
Stuani netted 11 goals during Boro's promotion-winning season, scoring the decisive goal against Brighton in May 2016 to lift the club into the Premier League.
His memorable brace in a Wear-Tees derby last season gave Boro the bragging rights with a 2-1 league win over Sunderland.
Stuani links up with Colombian defender Bernardo, who made the same switch to the Spanish side from Teesside earlier this summer.
