Charlton release Denmark Under-21 international

Charlton Athletic have released Martin Christensen after the winger failed to make a single appearance for the Addicks. The 21-year-old signed a four-year deal with the Addicks after the club shelled out £250,000 for his services from Herfolge BK in March 2007 after making 55 appearances in three seasons for the Danish club. Charlton loaned the winger to Dutch side Heracles Almelo in January 2008 until the end of the season as the Eredivisie side looked to stave off relegation. The Denmark Under-21 international went on to make 11 starts in the Dutch top flight but has now been judged surplus to requirements at the Valley. "We are looking for a new club. Denmark is of course of interesting," John Sivabaek, the player's agent told Sporten.dk.
