West Ham are close to agreeing a deal to sell striker Nikica Jelavic to Chinese second division side Beijing Renhe.

The transfer is "95 per cent done", according to a source close to the negotiations.

Croatia international Jelavic joined West Ham on a two-year deal from Hull City last September for £3m, but has struggled to secure a regular first-team place with 13 of his 15 appearances coming from the substitutes' bench.

The 30-year-old, who has scored two goals during his time at Upton Park, had spells with Hajduk Split, Waregem, Rapid Vienna, Rangers and Everton before moving to the Tigers for £6.5m in January 2014.

The Chinese transfer window closes on February 26 and West Ham playmaker Dimitri Payet is another target, with an unnamed club prepared to pay £38m for his services, according to Sky sources.
