West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has apologised for the trouble that saw the Manchester United team bus attacked on Tuesday night.
The Hammers' final match at the Boleyn Ground was delayed by 45 minutes after bottles and cans were thrown at the United coach.
West Ham claimed a thrilling 3-2 victory over United to end their 112-year stay at the Boleyn Ground on a high and Bilic insists the trouble will not overshadow what his players achieved on the pitch.
"What happened before the game, of course we are not proud of it, but we are not the one to be blamed," he said.
"What could we have done as club, not the players or the staff here, the club itself. We apologise, okay, the chairman apologised and that is basically all we can do.
"Of course, what the chairman said that we can't connect ourselves with the guys who done it and that's it. But I don't agree with you, nothing can overshadow what we done on the pitch."
