West Ham have completed the signing of Argentine striker Jonathan Calleri on a season-long loan.
Slaven Bilic revealed last week a deal was almost done to bring in the 22-year-old from Uruguayan club Deportivo Maldonado.
And Calleri has completed the paperwork in time to join the squad for West Ham's Europa League qualifier against Romania's Astra Giurgiu on Thursday.
"I am very happy to have signed for West Ham," he told the club website. "This represents a fantastic new challenge for me and I am really looking forward to it.
"The Premier League is the best league in the world and so I am delighted to have this opportunity to play in such a prestigious league."
Calleri's previous clubs include Boca Juniors and Sao Paulo, and he was part of the Argentina squad beaten in the first round at the Rio Olympics this month.
"These are exciting times for me personally and I am motivated to adapt my game to this new environment," he said. "I am a player who always tries to work as hard as I can and to do my best for the team."
