Watch West Ham's new signing Jose Fonte talk about his move to the London Stadium.
The Portuguese defender left Southampton last month after seven years on the south coast, to sign a two-and-a-half year deal with the Hammers.
Speaking ahead of the club's mid-winter trip to Dubai, he told Sky Sports News HQ: "In life you need new challenges and I look forward to the challenges ahead.
"It's a massive club. There is great passion and have seen it through the years at the old ground [Upton Park].
"It was fantastic to play here and the atmosphere. Hopefully I will succeed."
On selecting the No 23 jersey to wear, he added: "Number six was not available. It was retired with the great Bobby Moore, so I went for 23.
"Two times three is six, and many great sporting personalities have used 23."
