A warrant has been issued for West Ham forward Robert Snodgrass after he failed to turn up for a court trial.

The Scotland international, who joined the Hammers in a £10.2m deal from Hull during the January transfer window, is charged with driving a car while a baby was being held by a passenger.

Snodgrass is alleged to have driven on Duke Street, Glasgow, on April 17 2016 with too many people in the vehicle to fit a baby seat in.

The baby is alleged to have been in the arms of a rear seat passenger.

Snodgrass, who was born in the city, did not attend the city's Justice of the Peace Court when the case was called.

Defence lawyer Martin Black told the court "he didn't think he had to be" when asked why his client was not present.
