Pep Guardiola's side left it late once again to beat David Moyes' plucky West Ham side, with David Silva scoring an 83rd-minute winner at the Etihad Stadium.
The victory means they maintain their eight-point gap at the top of the Premier League table ahead of second-placed Manchester United, who beat Arsenal 3-1 on Saturday.
Following the result, Neville gave his views as City proved their mettle late in the day once more, while also teeing up the Manchester derby next Sunday, which sees United without Paul Pogba after his red card on the weekend.
