David Moyes was pleased with how Joao Mario has settled into the club after he played a major part in West Ham's 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace

David Moyes confirmed Swansea have lodged a bid for striker Andre Ayew, but insisted West Ham must bring in replacements before any sale can take place.

According to Sky sources, Swansea have offered a deal worth up to £18m for Ayew, but West Ham are holding out for their £20m valuation of the striker. The Hammers rejected an initial bid of £14m from Swansea for the Ghana international earlier this month, and the Welsh club have now returned with a second bid worth £18m including add-ons.

"We have had a bid from Swansea and we are considering it," added Moyes. "But we need to get players in and until we get players in I am not able to make any decision."

West Ham 1-1 Crystal Palace highlights

Moyes was speaking after seeing his side - who were without 10 first-team players - draw 1-1 with Crystal Palace at London Stadium on Tuesday night.

Despite being held at home, Moyes was pleased with West Ham's performance, with Joao Mario, on his first start for his new team, being singled out for particular praise.

"With what we had available tonight, I would take a point," Moyes said. "We played quite well at times and did a good job.

"We had to play a few people out of position, and asked them to do a few different things. We coached them to do a few things differently and caused them some problems.

"I was so pleased with how quickly he has settled in. When you bring players in during the transfer window, you are never sure how they are going to settle into the team. On tonight's performance, I thought he did a good job."
