Former West Ham captain Kevin Nolan is training with Sky Bet League Two side Leyton Orient.

The 33-year-old left the Hammers by mutual consent last month after four years at Upton Park, where he scored 31 goals in 157 appearances.

Nolan has yet to sign for another club following his release and has decided to team up with former West Ham first-team coach Ian Hendon, now manager of Orient.

The former Bolton Wanderers and Newcastle midfielder will remain with the east London club for an "indefinite period", but it is not yet clear whether he is attempting to earn a contract with Orient.

"It is great to have such a model professional in Kevin at the club, and I am more than happy for Kevin to come in and train with the squad," Hendon said.

"It is good for our players to be training with a vastly experienced and talented Premier League midfielder."
