Mark Noble spoke to Saturday Night Football after West Ham's 2-1 win over Manchester City

Mark Noble said West Ham United are in “exciting times” after they claimed another shock away win by beating Premier League leaders Manchester City 2-1 on Saturday.

Having already taken the scalps of Arsenal and Liverpool on the road this season, the Hammers toppled an unbeaten City side that had not conceded a league goal all season thanks to strikes from Victor Moses and Diafra Sakho.

Having started their campaign with defeat in the third qualifying round of the Europa League, West Ham have since claimed four league wins and are now second in the table, on 12 points.

It has been a dream start for new manager Slaven Bilic and summer signings such as Victor Moses, Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini.

Noble told Sky Sports: "We knew we were going to come here and not have a lot of the ball, but to be honest, we don't care. We've got three points, we have beaten Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City away from home. It's a credit to the players today and the way the manager set up.

"It was well-documented, the way we played in the Europa League, but if you see today, and the last three away games, the way the boys work for each other, the quality we have got now in Victor, Lanzini, Payet, Sakho up front - it's exciting times for West Ham.

"We went into the season with a new manager, new staff, a lot of new players and we are slowly gelling together.

"We had two tough home games to start and everyone was getting a little bit worried, but we knew in the camp that we had enough to have results like this."

The result was City's second defeat in five days, having been beaten by Juventus 2-1 at home in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Noble admitted West Ham's players and staff had watched that game and taken inspiration from it.

He added: "We knew we were going to come up against it. These boys haven't conceded a goal since the start of the season and they haven't lost a game.

"We watched the game against Juventus in the week and took a little bit of belief from that, if I'm honest and we have come here today and got two goals.

"It was a little bit nervy at the end, obviously. They have got some fantastic players, but we managed to hold on. There are some tired heroes in our changing room."
