New Watford head coach Javi Gracia described his home debut as "unforgettable" after the Hornets beat Chelsea 4-1 on Monday Night Football.
Troy Deeney gave Watford the lead with a 42nd-minute penalty after Tiemoue Bakayoko was sent off for Chelsea.
Although the visitors levelled in the second half through Eden Hazard, Watford responded superbly with three goals in seven minutes to secure a resounding win.
"You always work for nights like this but this is unforgettable," Gracia, who was appointed as Watford boss on January 22, told Sky Sports. "I am very proud of my team and my players and very happy for our fans to enjoy a great victory.
"The team worked very hard in 90 minutes. We defended well and I am very happy today."
Watford caused Chelsea problems from the start as they pressed high up the pitch and forced the visitors into mistakes.
Gracia said: "We made a very good high press and we had many chances in the first half when we played better. The second half we had more difficulties but then to score the second goal was incredible, it was an unforgettable night."
The win sees Watford open up a six-point gap over the bottom three in the Premier League.
And Gracia said: "It's only three points and we try to get the next three points in the next game."
