Quique Sanchez Flores is happy with Watford’s start to life back in the Premier League even though his side missed several chances to make it even better against West Bromwich Albion.

The Vicarage Road side hosted their first home game in the top flight for eight years and followed up their 2-2 draw at Everton last weekend with a 0-0 stalemate against Tony Pulis’ men.

Watford missed a glut of openings and even though Saido Berahino’s header wide for the visitors was the best opportunity of the game, the home team would have deserved a win more.

They sit on two points rather than four after their opening pair of fixtures but Flores is content after seeing his team turn in a good display.

Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores said he was proud of his players performance in their 0-0 draw with West Brom.

He said: “I was pleased with the performance of the players. I think we had control of the match but maybe we missed a little bit with an end product to score a goal.

“But I’m really happy because we had control. It was very difficult to break West Bromwich Albion down and when you put a lot of players together in a block it is difficult.

“We played well. We tried to find the space and we switched play really well. We crossed the ball and I think we did everything we can do.
