Steve Evans has denied approaching Massimo Cellino about taking over at Leeds while Uwe Rosler was still manager.
Reports in the national press on Friday morning suggested the former Rotherham boss had emailed Cellino to push his case to replace Rosler.
Rosler, who was sacked on Monday and immediately replaced with Evans, has reportedly complained to the League Managers Association about Evans' alleged conduct.
But, speaking at Friday's news conference, the Scot said: "I've seen those reports and I only want to answer this once only and then let's let it dry.
"I have never emailed Massimo Cellino in my life. So let's finish on that. The only time I was in contact with Massimo was late on Saturday evening when he spoke to me to ask if I could attend the meeting on Sunday.
"I shall finish on this point, and totally on the subject. My first question to the owner on Sunday was 'have you a head coach in place?' when I met him and he said 'no'. Then the meeting started."
