Kyle Lafferty is joining Birmingham on an emergency loan deal

Birmingham have signed Northern Ireland international striker Kyle Lafferty on an emergency loan deal.

The 28-year-old Norwich forward, who is currently on international duty, will be with the Blues until 31 May, although the Canaries have a 28-day recall option.

Lafferty joined Norwich in the summer of 2014 but has struggled for regular football and has made just 23 appearances in all competitions, including only three this season.

Having spent time on loan with Turkish side Caykur Rizespor last season, he now finds himself in the thick of a battle for play-off qualification.

With nine games to play, Birmingham are ninth in the Championship standings, six points adrift of the play-off places.
