Michael Keane's injury-time strike earned Burnley a thrilling 1-1 Sky Bet Championship draw in a top-of-the-table clash with Middlesbrough at Turf Moor on Tuesday night.

It looked like a 70th-minute goal from £9m striker Jordan Rhodes, his third in two matches after his match-winning brace at Bolton on Saturday, would see Boro extend their lead at the summit.

But Burnley boast the most potent attack in the division and they eventually found a way through the league's meanest defence in the second minute of injury time when defender Keane bundled the ball home from close range.

It extended the Clarets' unbeaten run to 20 Championship matches and meant Sean Dyche's team remain just two points behind Boro.

It was probably the result third-placed Brighton were hoping for as they moved level on points with Burnley after a comprehensive 4-0 home win against QPR.

Anthony Knockaert and Jiri Skalak scored quick-fire goals either side of half-time to put Albion in the driving seat before a Connor Goldson header and another Knockaert strike ensured a fifth win in six games for the south-coast club.

At the other end of the table, Charlton's goalless draw at already-relegated Bolton meant they will be joining Wanderers in League One next season.
