Burton manager Nigel Clough is hoping to offer Irish teenager Ryan Delaney a permanent deal with the club.
Defender Delaney, 19, currently with Wexford Youths, has impressed the Brewers boss while on trial in two recent friendly matches.
"Ryan Delaney is off back to Ireland," Clough told newly-promoted Sky Bet Championship side Burton's official website.
"He's a cracking lad and we would look to try and get him fixed up if we can. He hasn't played at a high standard in football and doesn't train full-time, that's why we brought him off (against Kidderminster), he was a bit tired."
Clough added he will be taking another look at midfielder Lee Williamson, recently released by Blackburn, but former Ipswich midfielder Jay Tabb would not be offered a deal.
