Leeds have signed Bristol City defender Luke Ayling on a three-year deal.

Ayling, 24, is a former Arsenal trainee and spent four years with Yeovil before building his reputation at Ashton Gate.

He was a reported target for Brendan Rodgers at Celtic but completed his move to Elland Road on Thursday.

His last game as a Robins player came on the opening day of the season, a 2-1 win over Wigan.

Garry Monk's Leeds lost 3-0 to Queens Park Rangers in their opening Championship fixture but the former Swansea boss remains confident the Yorkshire club will improve.
