Highlights from St Andrews as Birmingham take on Wolves in the Sky Bet Championship.

Wolves boss Walter Zenga was delighted with the "heart and passion" shown by his team to battle from a goal down to win 3-1 at Birmingham.

The visitors had trailed to a 24th-minute debut goal from Che Adams, but turned things around in the second half to move up to third in the Sky Bet Championship table.

"The team played very well," Zenga said. "They played with heart and passion and had the confidence to stay in the game.

"The second half was amazing and I am very happy for them as they are working very hard.

"I told them (at half-time) they played well in the first half and not to lose confidence as the chances of scoring were very high."

The Italian picked out new forward Jon Bodvarsson for particular praise, saying: "Jon came only two days after me. He is a fantastic person because he works for the team."

Zenga acknowledged, however, that he would have to consider bolstering his squad, adding: "We only have four defenders and two strikers so we need other players."

Birmingham fell apart after the interval and finished the game with 10 men after 18-year-old striker Jack Storer - a 76th-minute substitute - was sent off in the 82nd minute following a clash with Kortney Hause.

They found themselves under early pressure but took the lead midway through the first half when Adams marked his debut with a smartly taken goal.

Adams, once discarded by Coventry and forced into non-league football with Ilkeston before being snapped up by Sheffield United, displayed a cool head when he side-footed home a low shot.

The visitors, often attacking in short surges in the first half, produced an entirely different performance in the second period, and were back on level terms thanks to a 47th-minute equaliser from the industrious Joe Mason.

Wolves captain Danny Batth tapped home a straightforward goal just after the hour mark to put his side ahead after Birmingham goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak had parried a Matt Doherty header.

Birmingham's problems became even more acute when Storer was shown a red card and Bodvarsson added his late goal.

Blues boss Gary Rowett was understandably disappointed with the outcome.

"We have to be better at home and how we manage games," he said.

"The lads did a lot of good things in the first half but we then tailed off. We have to make it more difficult for the opposition.

"We need to show a little more composure as a group. To lose our shape was not good enough."

Rowett's other concern was the sending-off of Storer.

He said: "I want passion and commitment from the players. Unfortunately for him he let the team down. His reaction when he went off was not something I am not proud of either.

"He certainly has to learn and I've told him that is something which could have cost him his chance to get back into the team.

"Jack is an explosive player and sometimes walks a tight-rope with his decision-making."
