Bristol City have signed England U19 captain Tyler Moore from French club Lens on a three-year contract.

Moore began his career in West Ham's academy and - as a 12-year-old - was spotted by Lens while playing a friendly in France.

Lens signed him, and he has spent the last seven years in France.

But City are now bringing him back home with high hopes for the centre-back.

"This again shows our desire to bring in top-quality young talent," boss Lee Johnson told the club's website.

"Taylor has captained England U19s, which is one of the golden age groups for the current England crop.

"He's very intelligent, has excellent potential. There aren't many young, English centre-halves around as good as he is, so we're delighted to have secured his services."

Chief operating officer Mark Ashton said: "It's already been a very busy transfer window and Taylor's arrival is another positive step for us. We're delighted to welcome him to the club from Lens.

"We still feel we have work to do in this window and everyone at the club is working hard behind the scenes to get business done between now and next Wednesday."
