Garry Monk will discuss his future at Leeds United after their final game of the season against Wigan this weekend.

The 38-year-old has turned the Yorkshire club from Championship strugglers into promotion contenders this season, but they are set to narrowly miss out on a play-off spot.

Technically, United can still make sixth place should they win against the already-relegated Latics and Fulham lose, but they must overcome a goal-difference of 13.

Monk signed a one-year rolling contract when he replaced Steve Evans last summer but the club have changed hands since, with Andrea Radrizzani now in charge instead of co-owner Massimo Cellino.

Leeds United's Chris Wood is congratulated on scoring his team's second goal during the Sky Bet Championship match at Elland Road, Leeds.

"I will sit down with the owners after the Wigan game," Monk said ahead of the Championship season's final day on Sunday.

"We need a clear plan and we need to build on the foundations and progression made this season.

"You have seen this season how competitive the Championship is and it is only going to get tougher, so we have to be ready."

Prior to their form stumbling in March, Monk was on course for the best win percentage of any Leeds manager including the great Don Revie.

The club's new co-owner Radrizzani want to make his 50 per cent stake a total one at the end of the season and has held positive talks with Cellino over a deal.
