Tom Ince has spoken to the FL72 podcast about Derby's recent revival, his Dad's influence on his career and getting off the mark.
Ince completed a permanent move to Derby in the summer, after impressing on-loan at the iPro Stadium last season.
The 23-year-old netted 11 goals in 18 appearance in 2013/14 - form which showed his early promise had not gone to waste.
And after a slow start by Ince and Derby, the Rams are finally clicking into gear after back-to-back wins at Ipswich and Reading, where Ince grabbed his first of the season, and he hopes they can build on their recent improvement ahead of their live clash with Burnley on Monday night.
"There was a lot of expectation on the team to come out flying from the start, but it was a big turnaround in the summer," Ince told the FL72 podcast.
"These back-to-back wins away from home, especially the one at Reading, after the result they got at Ipswich, was fantastic for us. We have to build on that now in these two quick games before the international break, starting with a massive game at Burnley on Monday night.
"After coming in last year I never thought I would have done what I did [scoring record]. Signing on a permanent contract was the best thing for me to do, but with that came expectation.
"It was frustrating when I was not finding the back of the net, but in this team I will always get chances to score and it was nice to break the duck on Tuesday night.
"Sometimes you have to grind out results, especially if you are not playing the way people expect Derby to be playing, but it is still early doors, and if we can get as many points as we can coming up to Christmas then we will be right up there.
"The manager has come in with his own ideas, new formation and new tactics, and the lads are starting to gel.
"You can see we are playing some good football but it is about finding that consistency for 90 minutes, and that will take time.
Ince has always had to answer questions of his father's influence, Paul having acted as an advisor in his son's moves, but Tom insists it can only be a good thing to draw on his dad's knowledge and experience.
"We watch the tapes back after the game, I try and get away from him, but he has me in the front room - pause, play, pause, play - you are talking Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher analysis." Ince added.
"It is great to have that support. As well as the manager I have my dad who has played at the highest level to give me advice.
"Having travelled to some fantastic places with him, I have seen what I want to do and it will spur me on. I just have to keep my feet on the ground, believe in my ability and stay there. I feel like I have found a home in Derby."
