Sunderland fixtures: Premier League 2016/17

Sunderland fixtures

Sunderland start their 2016/17 Premier League campaign with a tough away trip to Pep Guardiola's Manchester City on August 13.

This is swiftly followed by the first north east derby of the season as they welcome newly promoted Middlesbrough to the Stadium of Light.

Boxing Day offers the late gift of a trip to Old Trafford and a first meeting of the season with Jose Mourinho's Manchester United, before Liverpool visit the Stadium of Light in the first game of 2017.

Black Cats fans will want to mark March 11 in the calendar as they make the short trip to Middlesbrough for the second derby day, with Premier League champions Leicester, the return Manchester United fixture and Chelsea to come in April.

Sunderland have made a last-gasp escape from relegation for the last three seasons, and face Hull and Swansea in what could be vital fixtures before a tough away trip to Chelsea on May 21.
