Hatters pounce for Black Cat

SUNDERLAND goalkeeper Michael Ingham has joined Second Division Stockport County on a month's loan.

Black Cats boss Peter Reid has allowed Ingham to move to Edgeley Park to gain greater first team experience.

The 22-year-old shot-stopper has yet to make his Premiership bow for Sunderland and will be hoping for enhanced prospects at the lower level.

The arrival of Norwegian Thomas Myhre on Wearside has pushed Ingham further down the pecking order.

Ingham was drafted into Northern Ireland's senior squad for their midweek friendly against Cyprus when he was an unused substitute.

It was a similar scenario on Saturday for Ingham as he was on the bench for Stockport's slender victory at Port Vale.
