Chris Martin has joined Reading from Derby on loan until the end of the season.
The 29-year-old striker scored 11 goals on loan at Fulham last season, including a double against Reading.
The Scottish international, who could make his debut against Millwall for Jaap Stam's men this weekend, is the Royals' second signing of the January window after Tommy Elphick also joined the club on loan.
Stam told the club website: "With the large number of games still to play this season, it was important to strengthen the attacking options available to us with a player who can add to what we already have within the squad.
"In Chris Martin, we have a striker who has proven his goalscoring ability at the clubs he has played for in the past and hopefully he can give us an extra impetus going forward and score goals for us."
Meanwhile Roy Beerens has left the club and signed a three-and-a-half year contract with Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem and goalkeeper Goerge Legg has gone on loan to Barnet until the end of the season.
