Donny name McIndoe price

Doncaster Rovers have slapped a £250,000 price tag on winger Michael McIndoe.

Doncaster Rovers have slapped a £250,000 price tag on winger Michael McIndoe.

The former Yeovil forward recently joined Derby County on a season-long loan deal, but Rovers chairman John Ryan is understood to have warned them that they will need to stump up some serious cash if they want to make the arrangement a permanent one.

McIndoe sees his spell at Pride Park as being the perfect opportunity for him to build a launchpad from which he can catapult his career to new heights.

Having made an impressive debut against Burnley on Saturday, the tricky left-sided flyer is now hoping that he can catch the attention of Walter Smith.

"I am ambitious and I want to play for Scotland," he declared.

"I want to be in the team as quickly as possible. I believe Scotland are crying out for a quality left winger.

"There is a real opportunity there and hopefully I can take it. Playing for Derby will certainly help me."

Later this week McIndoe will meet up with the Scotland Futures squad which will face Turkey, and he revealed that he felt he had to quit Belle Vue if he was to further his international prospects.

"I had no choice about leaving Doncaster really," he added. "On Wednesday I can go up to Scotland as a Derby player rather than a Doncaster player and that will do me no harm."

Meanwhile, Rams caretaker manager Terry Westley will not be pursuing his interest in trialist strikers Christopher Nzinga and Evangelino Valentim.

Both played in a development match against their counterparts from Boston United this week, with Frenchman Nzinga having failed to impress the Championship side.

Nigerian Valentim, however, might have done enough to earn another run-out with the club in pre-season in the summer.
