Magpies keep young Ram
Notts County have extended the loan of Derby County midfielder Nathan Doyle.
Notts County have extended the loan of midfielder Nathan Doyle for the rest of the season. The 19-year-old (pictured) joined the League Two club on an initial month-long spell last month, having made four appearances for The Magpies so far.
With Thursday's Football League loan deadline looming, Meadow Lane boss Gudjon Thordarson has opted to keep the teenager on for the rest of the campaign.
One player that will not be joining County is experienced winger Nicky Summerbee.
The 34-year-old appeared in a behind-closed-doors friendly for the East Midlands outfit this week following his release from Nationwide Conference side Tamworth.
Summerbee, who had a short spell with League One side Tranmere Rovers back in the autumn, failed to impress Thordarson enough to offer him a deal.
Meanwhile, the club have stated that there is no rift between the board and Thordarson regarding County's playing budget, despite speculation to the contrary.
"Gudjon and the board believe this is a very competitive budget which can provide a framework to deliver a successful campaign," read a statement on the club's official website.
"This budget will be reviewed, as further income is generated.
"Contractual negotiations with existing players are now being discussed together with the targeting of potential new players ahead of the summer."
