West Brom manager Tony Pulis has said he was disappointed his side came away with just the one goal in their victory at Norwich on Saturday.

Saloman Rondon headed the Baggies to their first consecutive win since September 2014 shortly after the half-time interval.

But the club's record signing and defender Craig Dawson spurned golden opportunities to put the match out of the Canaries' reach, leading to a nervous finale at Carrow Road.

"I think in the first 10 minutes, Norwich came out of the blocks, which we knew they would do. They caused us problems," Pulis said.

Tony Pulis says he's pleased with West Brom's performance in their 1-0 win over Norwich at Carrow Road

"Once we had seen that first period out, I think the quality - the opportunities and chances we created - meant we played some really good football.

"The only thing is is we have created great opportunities and great chances and again, we've only come away with one goal."

Norwich appeared to have the upper hand in the opening stages of the contest but as the half wore on, the Baggies started to gain control. Pulis feared the interval came at the wrong time for the visitors.

Alex Neil says Norwich's defending was not good enough in their 1-0 loss to West Brom

"We just wanted to get on our front foot," the Welshman added. "We'd finished the half so well and sometimes you really are concerned. The worst thing that can happen is half time because it stops the flow of the game and the game was flowing our way.

"But fair play to the lads, the quality of our play and the chances we created today was first class away from home."

Rondon's 46th-minute winner was his second goal in nine matches since joining from Zenit St Petersburg in the summer.  But Pulis complained the Venezuelan's international commitments were hampering his development at West Brom.

"I keep saying it, we've had three months and I think he's been away for six weeks due to the travel and everything else," added Pulis. "I understand with the kid, he's got to go back. He's a big player over there so he has to go back.

"He does functions and everything else he shouldn't be doing on his rest days. He's a good player and we need him here. Unfortunately we are going to lose him again next month for two weeks so that'll be two months out of the four months we've been playing.

"We work very, very hard on the shape of the team and the dynamics but we need the players here all the time to work with them."
