West Brom captain Darren Fletcher believes Saido Berahino should follow the example of team-mate Stephane Sessegnon to try and win back his place in the team.
Sessegon scored the opening goal in the Baggies' 2-1 win at home to Stoke on Saturday, despite his future at the club previously appearing to be in doubt.
The former Sunderland player took a taxi back to the West Midlands after being left out of the side for the 1-1 draw at Newcastle United in May but is now back in maanger Tony Pulis' plans.
Berahino himself looked set to leave The Hawthorns to join Tottenham in the summer but Spurs saw a number of offers for the 22-year-old rejected.
He has since struggled for form this season, scoring just three times compared to a total of 20 in all competitions in 2014/15.
Berahino has come on as a substitute in West Brom's last four matches but has not started a game since he featured in the 3-2 defeat at home to Leicester on October 31.
Despite that, Fletcher has urged the England U21 international to be patient and make the most of his opportunities to impress manager Pulis, who insisted he was left out of he starting line-up against Stoke for tactical reasons rather than because of an imminent transfer.
"The manager has proved that if you're not featuring but you do get a chance and play well, you will stay in the team," said Fletcher.
"That is evident with Sess. Players who are not in the team should look to that and realise if you perform when you're given your chance the manager will stick with you.
"Sess is an example to everyone. Saido is a great kid who is not in the team right now but he's got to keep his head down because he's a great talent and he's got a number of years to play."
