West Brom manager Tony Pulis was pleased with his side's response after they came from behind to beat Bournemouth 2-1 on Saturday.
The Baggies were behind thanks to Josh King's fifth-minute penalty after Allan Nyom fouled Ryan Fraser in the penalty area.
But goals from Craig Dawson and Gareth McAuley completed the turnaround, handing the Baggies a fourth straight league win at The Hawthorns, and Pulis was full of praise for his side's spirit.
"We responded with two good goals that we are really pleased with," Pulis told Sky Sports. "They showed great spirit.
"We showed that when we had to dig in and work hard off the ball, we do it. That's what the players are.
"You try to get a team ethic and make sure they work hard together as a group and there are not many times this year when they've not done that. We've lost games but they've always been pretty tight and together."
Pulis also praised goalkeeper Ben Foster, who produced two excellent saves late on to deny Lys Mousset and Tyrone Mings.
"He'd have been disappointed if he'd have let those in," Pulis said.
"He's a top goalkeeper and a top professional. If you come in and watch him work his attitude is fantastic.
"This year he had an injury for a while and he was out for ages but since he's come back his form has been fantastic."
Victory sees West Brom stay in eighth but it takes them to 40 points and Pulis thinks his side are now safe from the threat of relegation.
"We've got 40 points now so I think we're okay," Pulis added. "We don't have to look over our shoulders.
"We now need to get the performance from the players every week, making sure we do perform and play football through the pitch.
"We've played some fantastic stuff but we need to be more clinical in the final third."
