Alan Pardew takes West Brom to Espanyol for winter training

West Brom will fly to Barcelona on Tuesday for a training camp as part of their preparations for Saturday’s FA Cup tie with Southampton.

Alan Pardew's side play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday Night Football but will then fly to Spain to use Espanyol's training facilities ahead of their fifth round game against Saints at The Hawthorns.

The Baggies boss is friends with former Watford manager and current Espanyol boss Enrique Sanchez Flores.

"It's something I have always done and always found very beneficial," Pardew told West Brom's official website.

"We're looking forward to changing the schedule and getting some freshness into the group for the run-in.

Alan Pardew believes that his side need to turn draws into wins and praised the impact Daniel Sturrdge has had at the Hawthons

"The facilities are excellent and there is an opportunity to get in some quality training time with the players. Tottenham went there a few weeks ago and have had a very good run since returning."
