Nigel Pearson and Craig Shakespeare are among the early frontrunners to replace Alan Pardew as West Brom head coach, according to Sky sources.
Pardew left the Baggies by mutual consent on Monday with the club bottom of the Premier League on 20 points, 10 adrift of safety with six matches remaining.
Pearson and Shakespeare have previously worked at The Hawthorns.
Pearson, currently the manager of Belgian side OH Leuven, moved to West Brom in November 2004 to become assistant manager to Bryan Robson and briefly took over as caretaker manager when Robson left in September 2006.
Shakespeare, currently first-team coach at Everton, played for West Brom for three years between 1990 and 1993.
He returned to the club in 1999, firstly as a Football in the Community officer, then becoming an academy and reserve team coach before taking caretaker charge in 2006 following the departure of Pearson.
Sky Sports News understands West Brom are drawing up a list of options, but are expected to be patient in their pursuit of a new manager with Darren Moore expected to remain in caretaker control until the end of the season.
