Burnley's attempts to bring West Brom forward Jay Rodriguez back to Turf Moor have stalled after the two clubs reached a stalemate in terms of valuation, according to Sky sources.

It is believed Rodriguez, who spent five years at Burnley between 2007-2012, is keen on a return to his former club, but the Baggies want in excess of £18m for the forward.

Last week Sky Sports News reported Burnley had made a combined £25m bid for Rodriguez and team-mate Craig Dawson.

However, it is understood West Brom want considerably more before they agree to sell either player.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche will be looking to strengthen his team due to his side's involvement in the Europa League this season and a move for 28-year-old Rodriguez would give extra strength to his attacking options.
