West Brom are closing on former Wolves attacking midfielder Bakary Sako, Sky sources understand.
Sako is out of contract after leaving Molineux at the end of last season and has undergone a medical at the Baggies' training ground.
West Brom boss Tony Pulis tried to sign the Mali international in the January transfer window but local rivals Wolves were unwilling to let him go while they had a chance of making the Sky Bet Championship play-offs.
Sako scored 38 goals in 124 games during a three-year spell at Molineux following his move from St Etienne in 2012.
But the 27-year-old could yet start the new Premier League campaign at The Hawthorns as Pulis looks to further strengthen his attacking options, having already signed James McClean from Wigan over the summer.
