West Brom are close to completing a club-record £15m deal for striker Salomon Rondon, Sky sources understand, and the player is expected to watch the Monday Night Football clash against Manchester City at the Hawthorns.

Rondon's capture from Zenit St Petersburg is expected to be announced this week, with the player having passed a medical and agreed personal terms with the Baggies.

The 25-year-old scored 20 times in 37 appearances for Zenit last season, and has 13 goals in 39 caps for Venezuela.

Rondon would become Tony Pulis’ seventh summer signing of the summer and the club’s second new striker following the arrival of Rickie Lambert from Liverpool.

According to reports, West Brom are willing to listen to offers for Brown Ideye – a £10m signing from Dynamo Kyiv last summer – who managed just seven goals in all competitions for the club last season.
