Matt Doherty has signed a new three-year deal at Wolves.
The club have a further year's option on the defender to potentially keep him at Molineux until 2019.
Doherty has come through the youth ranks at the club and made his debut against Doncaster in 2011 and has also spent time on loan at Hibernian and Bury.
He has made 81 appearances, scoring twice, for Sky Bet Championship side Wolves and wanted to commit his future to the club.
"I feel like I am very involved here now having been here for a few years. I wanted to stay and am glad that the club wanted me to stay too," said the 23-year-old.
Boss Kenny Jackett added: "I am really pleased, at 23 years of age, Matt is at a point in his career where we feel his best years are ahead of him."
Wolves are also in contract talks with winger James Henry and could wrap up a deal inside the next two weeks.
Meanwhile, midfielder Dave Edwards is set for several weeks on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury in the 0-0 draw with Brighton on Saturday.
"The tackle in the first half on him was quite a bad one and he has hyper-extended his knee which looks like it will be quite a few weeks," Jackett told the club's official site.
