Southampton confirmed for Club Super Cup in China

Dusan Tadic celebrates with Nathan Redmond and Oriol Romeu after putting Southampton back in front at St Mary's

Southampton will head to China on a pre-season tour ahead of their 2018/19 Premier League campaign.

The Saints successfully avoided demotion to the Championship at the end of last season, thanks to two wins in their last four games.

And they have now announced a two-week trip to the Far East in July.

Having flown out on June 30, they will arrive in Shanghai ahead of the three-team Super Cup.

Their first fixture will be against Bundesliga runners-up Schalke at Kunshan Stadium on July 5.

And the squad will then head to Xuzhou, where they will face Chinese Super League team Jiangsu Suning at the Olympic Sports Centre Stadium on July 11.

Having guided Southampton to survival at the end of last season, Mark Hughes is likely to be in charge of the China trip.
