Saints boss insists wantaway forward won't leave on the cheap
Southampton manager Mark Wotte is determined not to let forward Adam Lallana leave on the cheap.
Wolves have already had a £500,000 bid for the 21-year-old rejected with the Saints looking for a considerably higher offer.
The youngster was linked with a move to Tottenham in the early stages of last season but in the end mustered just two goals in all competitions as the South Coast club were relegated from the Championship.
Lallana has refused to play in the club's two pre-season games to date after telling Wotte he wants to leave.
"There is some interest for him and he would like to join a club in the Championship or Premier League," Wotte told the
Daily Star.
Quality player
"But as I have said before, we are not going to sell Adam Lallana for a cheap price. He is a quality player.
"So if there is a club interested they have to do serious business and not try to take advantage of the situation."
However, the League One club are now in a position to dictate terms. Having successfully been taken over on Wednesday they do not have to sell in an effort to improve their perilous financial situation.
