Charlie Adam has confirmed on Twitter that he has signed a one-year contract extension with Stoke City.

The midfielder, who has started just one of Stoke's three games so far this season, wrote: "Delighted to announce I have extended my contract with Stoke for a further year."

Stoke City responded with a follow-up tweet saying: "Good to have you with us for a further year wee man!"
