Stoke City's chances of signing Jack Harrison from MLS side New York City have faded because the two clubs are some distance apart on the fee, Sky Sports News has been told.

Harrison was born in Stoke, and went to the Manchester United academy, before moving to America with his parents when he was 14. He is now 21, and was called up by England's U21s in the autumn.

Stoke are keen to add him to Paul Lambert's new squad but are not prepared to pay New York's asking fee for a young player untested in the Premier League. It is thought the American club want over £5m.
