Aron Gunnarsson joined the EFL Weekly Podcast to take on '10 to tackle', with Iceland beating England at Euro 2016 and Cardiff City's play-off hopes on the agenda.

The midfielder has been a key player for the Bluebirds so far this season, scoring one goal and providing an assist in 11 matches in all competitions.

Ahead of Saturday's home match with Huddersfield Town, the 27-year-old discussed 10 wide-ranging topics...

What do your team-mates call you?

Gunnar, obviously because of the Gunnarsson and I am son of Gunnar, so that is where it comes from

The best thing about playing for Cardiff?

The fans. Obviously they have great fans there and a fan base that goes right up the valleys and they are passionate. It is just about getting the right results to get everyone going again.

Closet friend in football?

It will be my room-mate in the national team, Rurik Gislason, who plays for Nurnberg in Germany. I always keep contact with him and obviously with the national team as well we have been through a lot and he is my closest mate.

What is your squad number and does it have any significance?

It is No 17. My brother plays professional handball in Germany and him and I wanted to get the same squad number. He did not get 17 at his club, but is trying to get it now!

Best moment in football so far?

Obviously the Euros, it has to be the Euros. Beating England in the latter stages was an incredible moment for every single Iceland player.

I bet you are popular in Wales now?

Yes, everyone comes up to me and says, well done for beating England! It is the first thing they say to me!

Worst moment in your career?

Losing to Croatia in the play-offs to get to the World Cup in Brazil. That was tough to take. It took the players a long time to get over it.

Which team do you support? Is there an Icelandic team that you follow?

I am from the north of Iceland, so I am obviously a Thor Akureyri supporter, but I support Manchester United as well!

Any hidden talents?

Handball. I was quite a decent handball player when I was younger and I used to play that a lot and every time I go back there in the summer.

Watch Sky Sports for just £6.99. No contract.

Could you have gone into that professionally?

Yes. When I was 14, I had to choose between football and handball, because I got chosen for the youth national team, so I had to choose at the time and I choose football.

Where will you finish in the league this season, it looks a lot brighter now under Neil Warnock?

Our aim was obviously the play-offs, but now it is getting up the table again and just go from there. It has been a tough season, but it is brighter at the moment and confidence is coming back and that is the main thing.
