Wilfried Zaha donates 10 per cent of his salary to charity and says 'my mother makes certain that I do'.
The 23-year-old Crystal Palace winger also praised manager Alan Pardew for helping to reignite his confidence, following a dismal few months at Manchester United.
Speaking on YouTube and regarding his wages, Zaha said: "I give a 10th of my salary to charity every month so in terms of giving back [to the community] I do my best.
"That's not just charities here [in England], it is also charities in Ivory Coast as well. My mum makes sure of it as soon as the end of the month comes. I do that as that's my good deed."
The young Eagle made just two Premier League appearances for Manchester United - both as a substitute - having been signed by outgoing manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
He returned to Selhurst Park with his confidence in tatters but has been an integral part of Palace's impressive start to the current Premier League campaign.
He added: "I am just trying to keep my performances consistent. Alan Pardew speaks to you more, he doesn't keep you in the dark about things - that's why I prefer someone who is open.
"He tells you what you are not doing right and praises you when you are doing what you are supposed to be doing.
"He's given life and hope to the whole team. He's helped me get my confidence back after my time at Manchester United."
And he also said he owed much to his family support for helping him become a professional footballer.
He went on: "One thing I wanted to do from when I was young was buy my parents a house. I have done that in Ivory Coast.
"My dad used to take me to training in bangers and we used to push the car. He would do whatever it would take, so I owe my family."
