Connor Wickham has been banned for three matches for elbowing Tottenham's Jan Vertonghen last weekend.

The Crystal Palace striker admitted a charge of violent conduct over the incident during Spurs' 3-1 win at Selhurst Park.

Wickham and Palace argued the offence was not worth a three-match suspension - the statutory punishment - but an independent panel disagreed.
