Loic Remy has returned to Chelsea to receive treatment after sustaining an injury whilst on loan at Crystal Palace.

The 29-year-old, who is yet to feature in the Premier League this season, suffered a thigh injury during a training session on Monday.

Palace confirmed the striker would return to Chelsea for treatment on the injury, which is expected to keep the Frenchman out for a number of weeks.

Palace manager Alan Pardew said: "It is obviously a blow for the player and for us as a squad, he has just joined us and we were hoping he would play a big part in the team moving forward.

"He was looking great in training and this was an innocuous injury which can sometimes happen unfortunately."

The France forward joined Palace from Chelsea on a season-long loan last month, having largely found himself on the bench since he joined Chelsea in 2014. During his time at the Blues, he scored eight goals in 32 appearances.

Palace have started their new league season with one point from their opening three games.
